About Us
Our Story
My family moved from California to Hawaii when I was 5 years old. Growing up as a haole ( not native Hawaiian ) kid wasn't always easy, but we were fortunate to spend most of our days playing in the ocean. We grew up surfing, diving, fishing, wind surfing, and paddling outrigger canoe. My husband and I met in Kona but moved to San Diego shortly after. We have two children, three beautiful grandchildren, and family on both coasts. Hale Aleka is the house I grew up in. We chose the name Aleka because it means Alice in Hawaiian ( my mother's name) but everyone called her Puna . My husband and I own it now, but it will forever be hers. Many great times were spent on "Puna's porch" and her love for the Islands, and that house will live forever.
